Rugby Australia’s Super W Season Broadcast Through Remote Production

Key Points:

  • DoubleTake Sports brings Super W broadcast coverage to new heights this season.
  • Implementation of new technologies and coverage enabled through our innovative remote broadcasting workflows.

On Saturday, we had the privilege of broadcasting a Buildcorp Super W double-header to bring to a close the end of the regular season of the competition.

As the New South Wales Waratahs hosted the Queensland Reds at Concord oval in Sydney, we were able to roll out an exciting new feature of our coverage; providing a live cross into Suncorp Stadium to preview the upcoming Fijiana Drua v Brumbies match later that evening.

You’ve seen crosses like this on your TVs for years, they’re nothing new, but they’ve only been possible in major productions using millions of dollars of broadcast equipment. The new era of scalable remote production, and the myriad of savings, benefits, and opportunities that it offers to all levels of sport is here.

It’s been an honour broadcasting the Buildcorp Super W season this year, and we look forward to seeing this excellent competition grow in 2023.
