DoubleTake Sports was proud to partner with TEG Sport, Basketball Australia, and the Nine Network to deliver the inaugural Trans-Tasman Throwdown – featuring our most advanced coverage to date. The three-game series got underway in Australia with the Boomers and Opals taking on the Tall Blacks and Tall Ferns in Adelaide and the Sunshine Coast, before travelling across the ditch for game 3 in Hamilton. As the host broadcast partner for the Australian fixtures, DoubleTake Sports provided coverage befitting of this international showdown. The broadcasts aired nationally on 9Go! in Australia, and internationally on Sky New Zealand, showcasing a new benchmark in production quality for basketball in the region. This major international event featured 9+ camera coverage for all Australian games, and included a full suite of broadcast cameras and lenses, as well as specialty cine and backboard cameras – delivering an immersive experience for viewers. Custom-designed graphics reflected the unique branding of the Trans-Tasman Throwdown and were integrated with Genius Sports’ real-time statistics, offering fans an engaging, data-driven viewing experience. Lead commentary and production was facilitated remotely from our Brisbane hub, while a dedicated courtside commentary station was deployed onsite for live insights and courtside reporting—ensuring a seamless blend of studio-quality analysis and on-the-ground atmosphere. DoubleTake Sports is proud to have contributed to this landmark event and looks forward to the Trans-Tasman Throwdown becoming a permanent fixture on the Australian sporting calendar. We value our continued partnership with TEG Sport, Basketball Australia, and Nine, and look forward to working with them again in the future. Check out our broadcast recap of the event below.
