DoubleTake Sports Deploys Virtual Signage for Olympic-Qualifying Oceania Rugby 7s Championship

Key Points:

  • DoubleTake Sports produces host broadcast for 2023 Oceania Rugby 7s Championship.
  • Event provided direct qualification to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
  • First time DoubleTake Sports has deployed virtual signage, and the first time in the world that this technology has been deployed at this tier of broadcast.

DoubleTake Sports was thrilled to produce the world feed for the 2023 Oceania Rugby 7s Championship. The 3-day, Olympic Qualifying event saw 25 teams from across the Oceania region come together at the newly redeveloped Ballymore Stadium in Brisbane to battle it out for a coveted place at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games.

Production for this event was facilitated remotely out of our studios in Brisbane, with commentary onsite, and featured a minimum of 5 camera coverage across the competition, scaling to 9 cameras for the final day, including drone and cine cameras.

Excitingly, this event provided the opportunity for DoubleTake Sports to deploy virtual signage across the competition in partnership with our friends at AMC Supponor.

As the first ever implementation of this technology in a non-traditional broadcast worldwide, we were able to provide Oceania Rugby with advanced sponsorship integration, with the ability to provide customised sponsorships to select markets across the world.

Virtual signage and advertising unlocks tremendous potential revenue streams and creative opportunities for elite and sub-elite sports leagues. We look forward to working closely with AMC Supponor to bring this technology to our clients in the future.
