DoubleTake Sport is proud to have partnered with Queensland Rugby League in the development and deployment of a video referee system for the 2023 Hostplus Cup finals series.

Featuring full ‘bunker’ control of all broadcast camera angles, and two-way communication with the referees on ground, the video referee in this year’s finals series is able to review all tries, ensuring the integrity of the game result.

Thanks to our exclusive remote production workflows, the video referee will be based entirely out of our studios in Brisbane, much like the NRL Bunker.

Ultimately, it is these workflows and the savings they bring that enables innovations like this at this tier of competition to be successfully introduced. We look forward to working with Queensland Rugby League in developing this further ahead of the 2024 season.
