DoubleTake Sports Delivers Historic Australian Championship Broadcast and Unveils New Studio
DoubleTake Sports was proud to produce and deliver the broadcast of the opening match of the inaugural Australian Championship last Friday night, live on SBS.
The debut marked not only the launch of the long-awaited competition, but also the first official on-air appearance of the new DoubleTake Sports Studio.
The opening fixture — decades in the making — lived up to its historic significance, featuring lead changes, stunning goals, and a dramatic late winner as South Melbourne FC secured victory over Sydney Olympic FC. It was a fitting start to a competition designed to showcase the depth, heritage, and passion of football across the country.
For DoubleTake Sports, the night also represented a major milestone behind the scenes. The broadcast marked the first full deployment of the purpose-built DoubleTake Sports Studio.
The studio has been designed as a flexible, multi-purpose space that can be tailored to the needs of any production and seamlessly integrated into a wide range of workflows. It will serve as the heart for the Championship’s “Super Saturday” doubleheaders, produced live each week from our Brisbane Hub.
