Schools rugby league continues to go from strength to strength in Australia, with the 2025 NRL Schoolgirls and Schoolboys Grand Finals delivered in spectacular fashion at Sydney’s iconic Leichhardt Oval.
The Grand Final doubleheader was broadcast nationally on the Nine Network and marked a significant milestone for DoubleTake Sports, with the event airing on Nine’s mainline channel – Channel 9 – in both Queensland and New South Wales for the very first time.
All production was facilitated remotely from our Brisbane Hub and featured an enhanced 7 camera coverage. Commentary was hosted onsite at Leichhardt Oval and featured a full complement of Channel 9 talent, including Brad Fittler, Allana Ferguson, Murray Conallin, Emma Lawrence and Marlee Silva.
On the field, the Queensland schools dominated the deciders. Marsden State High School claimed the Schoolgirls title with a commanding 22–4 victory over Central Coast Sports College, while Keebra Park State High School secured the Schoolboys championship with a hard-fought 20–12 win against Patrician Brothers Blacktown.
DoubleTake Sports is proud to have supported the 2025 NRL Schools Rugby League season alongside our partners at the NRL, KommunityTV and the Nine Network. Throughout the season, more than 265 games were covered across the East Coast, delivering record audience growth — including a remarkable 400% year-on-year increase in Grand Final viewership on Nine.
